Viva Voltaire is a licensed and fully approved stallion.

He is approved for breeding by the Hannov. Verband in Germany, AHS, CWHBA, Oldbg. And CSHA.
In the performance test, he received a score of "9" for his character, his disposition,
his ability to work, willingness to work and his jumping ability.
During the 2000 show season, Viva surpassed our highest expectation. As a four year old, he was
Champion of the Canada Trust Development Series for four and five year old horses in Ontario
and winner of the Eastern Finale of the Series at the Tournament of Champions.
In 2001, he continued his successful career in the jumper ring under Roberto Teran.
Viva Voltaire was Reserve Champion of the Ontario series of the TD Jumper Development class and
Reserve Champion at the National Jumper Championships for five year old horses at the Royal Winter Fair.

Due to an injury Viva is no longer competing and available for breeding at all times.

Viva's Offspring

We are absolutely thrilled with Viva's first three crop of foals. His oldest foals were six  in 2007  and they do not only show excellent scope and technique over jumps but almost all of them are also fantastic movers. Viva's Salieri, a 2001 Hanoverian colt  is a dressage stallion prospect and in training with CET member Tom Dvorak, who has high hopes for this young stallion.

Viva's Salieri & Tom Dvorak

Winner of both 5 year old FEI classes at CDI Ottawa - June 2006

Winner of Award for Best Hanoverian  (i.e. highest score) bred in Canada

2006 NA Dressage Breeder Champion - Dressage at Devon with a wonderful score of 81 %

Several of our home bred "Viva's" were sold to some very respected hunter trainers in the United States.  We are thrilled  that Timberlake (aka Vivaldi) was Baby Green Hunter Champion as a THREE & four year old in California, where the judges described him as being "in a class of his own". In early 2006, Vivaldi won two Hunter Championships in the Pre Green Hunter Division as a five year old. The four year old Otherwise bred by Tammy Peacock was the 2007  4/5 year old Challenge Champion and the overall Ultimate Hunter Champion in Ontario.

The first two year old that was inspected for breeding, Viva's Carina W, received the dream score of 8,8 with a perfect "10" for "swing and elasticity of gaits" and scores of "9" for "breed & sex type", "walk" and "general impression & development". This was the highest inspection score in 2004 in Ontario and quite possibly the highest score ever achieved at a CW mare inspection.

Viva's  foals are typically very elegant, with beautiful heads and necks and  "lots of chrome".

If you are looking to improve your mare's movement, temperament and athletic abilities, you should consider breeding your mare to Viva Voltaire.

Viva's Pedigree

Viva Voltaire's  pedigree features three stallions who have all shown in open jumper classes and each of them produced international show jumpers. Viva Voltaire's sire is Voltaire, sire of  Dutch team horse Finesse, Beth Underhill's Altair and Ian Miller's Olympic mount Play It Again. Grannus, a grand-son of the legendary "Grande" has produced many international show jumpers, such as Grannusch (John Whittaker), Top Gun (Jan Tops) and Grand Slam (Nick Skelton). Argentinus is a very versatile stallion who has produced successful horses for dressage and jumping. He is the only stallion whose offspring made him the winner of his age group five years in a row. His most famous offspring are Amaretto under Dressage World Champion Isabel Werth and Anka, 2003 World Cup Champion under Markus Ehning.

Viva Voltaire shares the same mother line with "Sandro's Boy", the 2006 winner of the World Cup for show jumping under Marcus Ehning. Both stallions dams are by Grannus and out of an Argentinus mare.
