Rio's Filius is the full brother to one of the best amateur hunters in the US, "Eye Remember Rio", who has guided his legally blind rider to numerous  Hunter Championships at some of the most prestigious horse shows on the east coast.

Rio's Filius had been license by both the CSHA (score of 83.5%) and is fully approved with CSHA. He was licensed with  CWHBA but due to an injury has been unable to fulfill the performance requirements to obtain stallion approval for CWHBA.

We have bred several of our mares to him over the past couple of years and like his foals so much  that we have bred all of the mares to Filius in 2007  that we would normally have bred to his sire Rio Grande.

Rio Grande was the winner of the stallion performance test at Novemberhill Farm in 1991 scoring an excellent 135 points with consistently high scores for jumping (134 pts) and rideability (130pts.). Rio Grande started his show career in the dressage ring. He was Basic Champion at the prestigious Tournament of Champions as a four year old. From 1994 to 1997 he was shown very successfully in the Grand Prix ring by CET member Eric Lamaze. They were part of shown very successfully in the Grand Prix ring by CET member Eric Lamaze. They were part of Team Canada that won the Nations Cup in New York and Toronto in 1995.In 2000 and early 2001 Rio has been competing at the West Coast under American Jenni Martin. They won a $ 50,000 Grand Prix at Hits Tahoe and placed in many more Grand Prixs.
Rio Grande passed away in 2007.

He is the grandsire of both Shutterfly (Meredith Michaels Beerbaum) and Satchmo (Isabel Werth), the number one ranked international show jumper and dressage horse respectively as per 2007 WBFSH final ranking. Sandro is also the grandsire of Sandro Hit, one of the most popular and successful dressage stallions to ever stand at stud in Germany.
